Brian Bradesca Memorial Scholarship in Art and Technology

Introduction:

The Brian Bradesca Memorial Scholarship in Art and Technology was established in the memory of Brian A. Bradesca, artist, son, brother and beloved friend. This memorial scholarship honors Mr. Bradesca's life and spirit by helping aspiring artists reach their full potential. This scholarship was established by the Bradesca family and tracermedia, an interactive media firm Mr. Bradesca helped establish.

Purpose:

The purpose of this scholarship is to provide financial assistance to undergraduate students pursuing a degree in Art and Technology at The Ohio State University.

Requirements and Qualifications:

Eligible students will meet the following selection criteria:

  • Current BFA student in the Art and Technology program
  • Exhibit an appreciation for and understanding of technology as an artistic medium and/or concept.        
Application and Selection process:
  • Submit artwork to the Undergraduate Juried Exhibition, which occurs each Spring quarter.
  • Submit a typed one to two page Artist Statement with your work and email it to Kenneth Rinaldo. Your statement should discuss your motives for making art, your development, process and influences.

Each year Ohio State Art and Technology faculty, tracermedia staff and Mr. Bradesca’s family will select the recipient(s) of the memorial scholarship. The recipient(s) will be selected based on the quality of their artwork and the overall vision presented in their Artist Statement.

Brian Bradesca graduated from The Ohio State University with a degree in Art and Technology in 1999. His genuineness, warmth and generosity were felt by everyone he met. He brought joy and laughter to those who were close to him. He expressed art, his lifelong passion, in a variety of ways. In his short life he made a significant impact on the works, attitudes and lives of those fortunate to know him.
